If you are reading this, then you are on your way to joining the Batlle Krewe for their Annual Mardi Gras Extravaganza. We love sharing this experience with you and our trip truly wouldn’t be the same without our wonderful friends!! New Orleans is a very special city for our family and thanks to Mardi Gras, we have an excuse to visit it every year.

1. I hereby acknowledge that even though a member of the Batlle family may make me drink copious amounts of "Fill-in-Here", I will not hold the Batlle’s responsible for the loss of any of the following items: cell phones, wallets, purses, clothing, and/or dignity.

2. I hereby acknowledge that I will treat Mardi Gras as a Marathon, not a sprint.

3. I hereby acknowledge I will participate in the "Buddy System". I will not leave my Buddy behind, and if possible, will buy my Buddy the next round.

Suggested Packing List

SHOES:

Comfortable closed toed shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty (tennis shoes, converse, keds, toms, rainboots etc)
- No flip-flops for the parades. The floor is gross and your feet will get destroyed.

LADIES: For the BalI: HIGHLY recommend bringing a pair of flats in the very LIKELY event that you will want to take your heels off for some dancing fun. Being barefoot at the ball is not the business…
GENTLEMEN: Dress shoes with your tux

TOPS:

Fun and Casual!!
Sweatshirt or hoodie for cold evenings
Rain Jacket!!!
Comfortable tailgate type shirts/T-shirts (no reason to be fancy)

BOTTOMS

1-2 Pairs of jeans/pants

THE BACCHUS BALL:

$200 Ticket per Person
Black Tie Formal (Floor length gowns/ Tux)

Prepare yourself for a wild night, that also means you should get ready for your dress to get ruined at some point. When floats arrive at the Bacchus ball, they are still throwing beads and other items from the float. Those items will hit drinks and food on your table which most likely will end up on your dress. People will be partying and somebody will spill something on your gown, don’t let this ruin your night!!
